This year City of London Festival features three themes: Conflict and Resolution, City Walls: connecting London with Derry/Londonderry and other historic walled cities from Utrecht to Jerusalem, and Trees: sustaining the Festival's responses to the environment.

Some of the highlights of this year's festival include:

1) World class concerts: Britten's War Requiem with City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the choristers of St. Paul's Cathedral, London Symphony Orchestra and Tenebrae

2) New commissions: newly commissioned song cycle, Trees, Walls and Cities, written for the Brodsky Quartet and soprano Loré Lixenberg; 8 songs written by local composures partnering with local poets

3) Bringing the City to life: a new choral and orchestral work commissioned by the City of London and The Honourable The Irish Society performing in Guildhalls of London and Derry simultaneously; Mahogany Opera performing Britten's Chruch Parables in Southwark Cathedral; concert by Britten in Mansion House

4) Walks, talks and debate: a stimulating program including Worlds in Collision, Gresham Lectures, and City Walks

5) New Talent: performance by a new young artists' series of 8 concerts in the City's Churches and Livery Halls

6) Free summer events program: Over 100 FREE events to attend

7) Mobile Orchard: a pop-up mobile orchard with real and manufactured trees located at various locations in the city throughout the entire Festival
