With over 35.7 million visitors in 2012, Turkey is ranked number 6 in the most visited countries worldwide.

Turkey has a long and rich cultural heritage steeped in Ottoman influence. This is displayed in the architecture, cuisine and ethos of Turkish society.

It is home to the only city in the world that covers two continents, Istanbul. A popular tourist stronghold: not only can you explore Topkapi Palace - home to generations of sultans, you can also enjoy the culture of their 500 year old Grand Bazaar and check out the Blue Mosque which was built in the early 17th century and is one of the few mosques in the world to have six minarets.

But surely there's more to Turkey than Istanbul? So why not venture out to Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient cities in Turkey. Once the largest city of the Roman Empire, it currently houses one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - the Temple of Artemis. While there you could also visit the Temple of Hadrain and the Celsus Library, which is said to have once held 12,000 scrolls.

In the Southwest of Turkey is another popular destination, Bodrum. There you can visit the renowned beautiful blue beaches and see the ruins of the Mausoleum, also one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. However it wouldn't be a Turkish holiday without sampling local delights such as Turkish coffee, Turkish delight and baklava.
