Today on Meet the Members, we say hello to one of our own team, as it is not just you guys that swap, we do too! Excitingly, Nathalie from the Love Home Swap team completed her first ever home swap over the Easter weekend. After spending everyday answering the queries and questions from our Love Home Swap members, to ensure they complete a happy home swap, Nathalie was able to try it out for herself by swapping her lovely apartment in London for an great place in one of our most popular swap destinations; Paris.
Nathalie and Marton live in a cosy one bedroom flat in Central London, only two stops away from Kings Cross St. Pancras Station. She's been in London for almost two years now and would love a swap to gorgeous European beach destinations for a relaxing weekend getaway. Situated on the top floor of the building, their flat has been recently refurbished with a brand new kitchen and comfy leather sofa. They've also gone further to add personal touches around the house including a huge plant named Mindy! Their location is perfect for a weekend break in Central London, being only a few stops away from major hotspots.
How you found the home swap arranging process? was this easier/harder than you thought initially?
The key word is with no doubt communication. It was my first swap and I wanted to make sure everything goes smoothly, so with the other members we have been exchanging emails, talked through Skype and, honestly, it helped a lot. Communication builds trust and therefore made me feel really comfortable with the whole home swapping idea. The concept is brilliant and I am not saying that because I work for Love Home Swap: you can spend amazing holidays without spending as much as it would normally cost and even feel at home!
How did you find staying in someone else's house?
Perfect, just like at home!
3 Things you loved about the swap:The apartment was very well located The decoration was really cute and organized We felt at home and we saved 400 Euros!
How do you feel about your first home swapping experience?
I would love to do it again!
What advice would you give to other first time homeswappers?
If you have the opportunity to meet the other members before the swap, do it! Home swapping is also a social experience, so if you can enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine with the other members then go for it. Otherwise, the must is to have a Skype conversation beforehand so you can chat with the people who are going to stay in your house.
