One of our home swappers recently got in touch with us to tell us about their latest Love Home Swap experience... this story was a little different from your typical home swap; this one was a honeymoon home swap.

It's a swap that really exemplifies everything that makes home swapping such a better way to travel than staying in a hotel. Luke and his wife swapped with this truly stunning house in Clifton, Cape Town, South Africa. What a place to spend your honeymoon!

First off Mark, the owner, made things a little bit special for the honeymooning couple by asking his house manager, Randel, to meet the happy couple at the airport with a bottle of champagne. Luke says "Mark, the house owner was very generous with not just his home but the house staff, who really made our stay more relaxing. Randel the house manager also knew a lot about things to do in the area and pointed out a few really nice places." In addition to offering the help of his house staff, Mark also gave Luke access to his car to explore the area with.

It wasn't just the luxury of the house that made this honeymoon so special though, just as important was that home swapping allowed Luke & his wife to "[see] Cape town from more of a local's point of view. "

This is what makes home swapping with Love Home Swap so special. It takes you out of the typical tourist zone that is so easy to get trapped in when you stay at a hotel. And while we can't guarantee that every swap you do will include a champagne reception & personal house staff we can say with confidence that all our home swappers a very friendly and generous and often go the extra mile to make your swap that little bit more special.
