Home of the Week: Railay Beach, Thailand
Welcome to Railay Beach, the perfect place to have a hidden getaway. You'll see why after the jump.
Welcome back to our Home of the Week posts! As one can imagine, here at Love Home Swap we pore over many properties over the course of a day and from these gems we pick the ones that sparkle the brightest and show them off here. The sparkliest gems are either unique, off the beaten path, just plain ol' luxurious, or a combination of all three! This first home checks off all three boxes.
We are transported to Railay Beach in Thailand situated between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang. To get to the property one must take a 15 minute boat ride to get around the high limestone cliffs. One is immediately reminded of Scaramanga's Thai hideout from the James Bond film "The Man with the Golden Gun". The cliffs are world-renowned and they bring in mountain climbers from around the globe while partitioning the beachfront into private sectors
The home itself is separated into different pavilions; the main house and guest wing. You get between the two by crossing an outdoor walkway in the trees. There are outdoor bathrooms where you can both bath in private and be outside. The retired owners (Dick and Beth) really tried their best to combine the outdoors with the indoors.
Asides from chilling out in this palatial jungle setting, you can venture outside the property and walk 150m to the beach on the Andaman Sea. On the aquatic side you can swim, scuba dive, go snorkelling, sailing, and go on a sunset cruise. If you are feeling more terrestrial (and adventurous) there is rock climbing, cliff jumping, hiking, caving, and of course just working on your tan.
