Grand Canyon Skywalk, AZ

This is a transparent, horseshoe shaped platform, which clings on to the edge of the main canyon. Open to the public from 2007, the walk along the platform will cost you in excess of $70. The magnificent drop is a whopping 4,770 ft, about 1,450m.

Henderson Waves Pedestrian Bridge, Singapore

This unique bridge is wrapped in waves of curved steel and stands at 36 m or 118 ft above see level, making it the tallest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. Connecting Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park, the bridge shows the best views of Singapore.

8 Spruce Street, NYC

This structure is made of steel tubes and plates, stone, glass and a bronze handrail. Against the wishes of politicians and the general public, the bridge was opened in September 2008.

National Stadium, Beijing (Bird's Nest)

First unveiled for the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Olympics, the National Stadium in Beijing, China, is also known as the Bird's Nest. It is now used for sporting events such as football with a capacity to hold 91,000 spectators. The stadium is complete with a shopping complex and a hotel with rooms overlooking the field.
