So it looks like summer is finally here! This weekend temperatures soared (sort of) and us Brits flocked to the coast in force, so today at Love Home Swap we are celebrating the weather with Britain's most beautiful beaches.

1. West Wittering, Sussex

The impeccable sands and clear water of West Wittering is a personal favourite of British beach goers, whatever the weather West Wittering is sure to be dotted with Wet-suited Windsurfers or bikini bodies along the beach. Be sure to set up early as this quintessentially British beach, lined with quirky holiday huts, is flooded during the summer months.

2.Bamburgh Beach, Northumberland

When thinking about where to spend the day swimming and sunbathing it is safe to say that Northumberland is not top of many people's list. Although the bikini may be staying in the bag, Bamburgh Beach is the perfect place for a leisure stroll. The sweeping beaches, overlooked by the magnificent but moody Bramburgh castle is quite a sight to see.

3. Lyme Regis, Dorset

This sleepy town on the Jurassic coast is a perfect weekend getaway for all the family. Fish, chips, fudge and fossils, Lyme Regis is the perfect way to relax and soak up the sun. The small town boasts an immaculate sandy bay bordered with resturants, pubs, shops and arcades and also houses the world famous Boat Building Academy.

4. Kynance Cove, Cornwall

Arguably the most beautiful beach in Britain, Kynance Cove's white sands contrast with the dark red and green of the protruding cliffs creating a stunning seaside setting. Just North of Lizard bay, this paradise in Cornwall has been popular since Victorian times and is the most photographed and painted location in Cornwall.

5. Cowes Beach, Isle of Wight

Every year throughout the summer months, madness descends on the town of Cowes, Isle of Wight in the form of Yachts, boat racing and parties. Cowes week sees yachts from all over the globe racing around the island and is not just a day out for the sailing enthusiast but fun for all the family. For the best viewing head to Cowes or Ryde beach to soak up the sun and enjoy the sites of crystal blue sea dotted with sails. For the full event listing, view the Cowes events page.
