About our home

Our home has been lovingly renovated by our family. It has 3 large bedrooms with ceiling fans and a study/music room/4th bedroom. The loungeroom is airconditioned with comfortable leather lounges. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and under floor heating. There is an inside as well as an outside toilet. There is a fully equiped laundry inside the house. The house has an impressive kitchen and open plan dining area overlooking our landscaped backyard. The backyard includes manicured lawn, a variety of sitting areas and an outdoor 6 person spa. The yard has rear access which opens out onto parks and playing fields. The small front veranda, surrounded by gardens, is a perfect spot for a morning coffee.

We live in a suburb of Newcastle (150 km north of Sydney). It is a quiet friendly area with easy access to public transport. The major train hub is a 10 minute walk with trains taking you both north (Queensland) and south (Sydney, Melbourne). Buses run on the half hour taking you to major shopping centres, hospitals and tourist destinations. Newcastle airport has regular flights to other Australian cities and is easily reached by bus, car or taxi. Newcastle has many lovely beaches which are a 5 minute drive or 15 minute bike ride. (4 bikes are available in the shed.) The Hunter Valley is famous for it's vineyards. Many Coach companies run Wine Tours or drive yourself (1 hour). Our house is close to major sporting venues - horse racing track, trotting track and football stadium. Walking distance to Newcastle's finest dining strips - Beaumont Street, Hamilton (multi-cultural cuisines), Darby Street, Cooks Hill (modern, trendy cuisines). Take a day to travel to Port Stephens to experience Dolphin Watch Cruises or fantastic fishing.
Newcastle, and near by Maitland, have major significance in Australia's history and offer a variety of tours and venues to explore.

We are Keith and Ann-Maree in our late 40s and have 2 children, Anika 17, and Corey 14. Keith works in Maitland as a Weeds Officer and Ann-Maree is a school teacher in a local Primary School. We have spent the last few years renovating our house and attending dance concerts (thanks Anika) and football matches (go Corey) and need a holiday!

Our backyard is perfect for entertaining and our neighbour's on both sides have enjoyed many parties with us. We have family members who live in the Newcastle area who would be happy to offer any assistance if needed. Our neighbours are helpful and always enjoy a chat over the back fence.

Newcastle offers a variety of entertainment with world class performers appearing regularly as well as local amateur theatre that we all enjoy attending.
