About our home

We are a newly retired professional couple living on Sydney's northern beaches (Home and Away filmed nearby); detached house on quiet leafy street only 10 minutes walk from gorgeous Whale Beach; regular bus service to city centre; car use possible; BBQ in patio area on the back deck; large balcony at front; tropical gardens, exotic birds and friendly neighbours. Nearby are good walks with fantastic scenery including Kuringai National Park on other side of Pittwater accessible by ferry; restaurants, cafes, great Vietnamese/French bakery (best croissants outside of France!), gelateria, shops and cinema; tennis, golf, fishing and surfing (surf schools too), library and good medical facilities in nearby Avalon village.

Family orientated quiet neighbourhood; safe, little traffic. You can walk to Whale Beach in 10 minutes and enjoy fantastic views, swim and enjoy a coffee or a meal or bring your own food and wine and cook on the BBQ's by the beach. Public transport (bus) only 3 minutes walk away including late night service to and from Sydney city centre. On the western side of the peninsula you can easily walk (10 minutes) to see aquatic bird life at Careel Bay, mangroves and sandy beaches leading to Pittwater, which is a great spot to watch sunsets.

We are a recently retired professional couple. Kieran has worked all his life on environment protection and regulation of industry. He is keen on watching rugby, fishing, reading, theatre, travel and keeping fit as well as enjoying a good BBQ and relaxing. Tina is a qualified teacher and has always worked with children including being a nanny. She loves swimming, Pilates, reading, music, travel and theatre.

We are originally from Ireland and now planning to go to New York in April and Toronto.
