About our home

Our charming two-storey weatherboard cottage is set on a quarter-acre block, just five minutes walk to Bellerive Beach and close to Howrah Beach too. We enjoy extensive leafy views of the Derwent River and Mount Wellington. The house has been renovated, with a modern kitchen and bathroom, though like most projects on older houses, there are still a few jobs to be done. There are three bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and two with single beds. We also have a pull out sofa bed in the upstairs living and a fold-away bed. Our delightful home is filled with light and is well heated with an electric heat pump for those cooler Tassie nights.

We love books, music and art - there are lots in the house for you to browse. We also love fresh produce from our backyard fruit trees and kitchen garden. No matter the time of the year, there is usually something to pick. The back deck is a wonderful place to relax with a drink in hand taking in Hobart's spectacular twilight and the sunset behind Mount Wellington.

Bellerive is just 10 minutes drive from the Hobart CBD and walking distance to the Blundstone Oval. it's a great home-base for lots of day trips in southern Tasmania, close to vineyards, MONA, Salamanca Market, and lots of National Parks.

With two teenage children in high school, we are only available to travel in school holidays.
