Where is it?

Buzzy restaurants
Bribie Island only a small number of restaurants on the water but they are excellent.
Cool bars
There are Golf, bowls and RSL clubs on the island. All have good eateries and bars.
Cozy cafés
There are cafes on both the surf beach side of the island and the quieter passageway side.
Retail therapy
There are all the usual retail outlets on Bribie Island with most items covered. For more extensive clothes and other retail shopping about 15-20 minutes away by car is the Caboolture and Morayfield shopping centres.
Bit of culture
The island has its own marine museum but as it's main focus it is a seaside holiday spot.
Walks in the park
From our townhouse it is only across the road to the walkway that goes in either direction along the waterfront. Both ways have cafes for good coffee or fish and chips. There are plenty of exercise stops with good quality exercise equipment as well as childrens playgrounds. Also spaced along the waterfront there are plenty of BBQs and undercover tables and seating.
Spot of exercise
Walking, cycling, boating, fishing.
Day tripping
From Bribie Island it is only 50 minutes to Brisbane airport and on into the city. From Brisbane down to the Gold Coast is another 1 1/2 hours. North of Bribie you have 45 minutes to Caloundra and then further north to Mooloolaba and Noosa all a very comfortable day drive. On both coasts you have the hinterland towns of Mt Tamborine (on the Gold Coast hinterland) and Maleny and Montville on the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
