About our home

Gumnut Glen has four self contained one bedroom cottages. Each with full kitchens, double spa baths, separate showers, reverse cycle air conditioning and gas Weber barbecues on private verandahs. Now with 32 inch flat screen TVs and DVD players. For children, we have cabins with bunk beds or a single and trundle bed tucked away in the main living room of each cabin.

We are pet friendly, however, we do have one cottage that we keep ‘pet free’.

Swim, bush-walk, or just relax.

Gumnut Glen has its own swimming pool, a great area to lie back and enjoy the sunshine and read a book. You may wish to take a stroll of the property which is set on 40 acres of natural Australian bushland. We have two dams and some secluded picnic spots.

Wildlife can be seen from your verandah include kangaroos, wallabies, colourful parrots and other Australian bird life. We have a family of koalas that we see from time to time.

Gumnut Glen is great accommodation for sightseeing the Barrington Tops, located near Dungog, in the Hunter Valley, NSW.

If you like to dine out there are some great restaurants located 10 minutes drive at Clarence Town, or alternatively 15 minutes to Dungog.

We are located at the gateway to World Heritage listed Barrington Tops for hiking enthusiasts.

We are a family of four, Michael, Melissa, Meg and Matt, (twins born in 2003). We own and manage Gumnut Glen Cabins, which we bought in 2008. Besides running our business, Michael is a technical manager and Melissa sells real estate locally. We also have two cats, two dogs, 2 miniature horses, 2 big horses, 9 hens.
