Old Beach lies on the eastern shore of Hobart, capital of Tasmania. The Derwent River separates Hobart's two shorelines and flows out to open Pacific ocean. Known as the Apple Isle due to its apple orchards and also it numerous berry growing areas. It is also a State steeped in convict history with most especially Port Arthur, one of Australia's primary convict destinations from the colonial era. There is always a time in the year's calendar when there is something flowering in Hobart's pretty gardens. Tasmania has some wonderful sandy long beaches everywhere especially on the eastern coast. There are plenty of off shore islands such as Bruny Is., Maria Is.[National Park Reserve] and King Is [famous for its dairy produce], mountainous parks to go hiking especially in the west where Cradle Mt and other National Park Reserves are located.
