About our home

Our home is a traditional timber cottage architecturally transformed to create a bright, airy and spacious family home in one of New Farm’s premier tree-lined streets. Once inside, you have everything you need including three large bedrooms, a study, dining and living areas, a rumpus room and a laundry. You can enjoy all the comforts of home include air conditioning, an integrated sound system and free wifi.

The chef-designed kitchen flows out on to the entertainers deck, overlooking a salt-water swimming pool and a gorgeous greenhouse growing fresh herbs and other seasonal delights. Alfresco dining is almost obligatory, with built-in gas BBQ and wood-fired pizza oven at your disposal. Open the sliding glass door and windows wide and experience Brisbane's gorgeous climate.

The suburb of New Farm is just 2 kilometres east of the city centre of Brisbane. Located on a peninsular loop of the Brisbane River, the suburb derives its name from its history as a farming community in the early years of European settlement.

New Farm is today a vibrant and inclusive place. Our home is minutes away from supermarkets, amazing cafes, deli and restaurants, luxury and artisan shops, art galleries and cinemas. The suburb encourages an outdoor lifestyle, with unique spaces, such as Brisbane Powerhouse and the heart of the suburb, New Farm Park. The park attracts visitors from near and far with its gorgeous rose gardens, perfect riverside picnic spots, cycling loops and tree house-style adventure playground.

Getting around Brisbane is a breeze. There is a bus stop 2 minutes from our front door. Buses run to the city via Brunswick Street and 'The Valley', Brisbane's nightlife and entertainment district, where Brisbane's thriving live music scene lives on. Brisbane's iconic City Cat river ferries are just a 5 minute walk from our front door, and offer a relaxed and easy way to experience our beautiful city. First stop upstream is Queen Street Mall, the retail heart of Brisbane. The next stop is South Bank, Brisbane's famous inner-city playground with swimming lagoon, boutiques and restaurants, as well as world-standard art galleries, museums and performing arts complexes. For the more active, there's great bike and running paths through our parks and along the river, including the newly rebuilt riverside walkway that connects New Farm with the city.

Our family car (5 seat automatic SUV) is on offer to enjoy day-trips north (to the Sunshine Coast), south (to the Gold Coast), east (to Brisbane's bayside and islands) or west (to national parks and the rural hinterland).

More about us

  1. We are a family of four, with two parents who are professionals, trying to keep up with two gorgeous but energetic kids (boy aged 8 and girl aged 6).
  2. We have lived in Brisbane most of our adult lives, and realised our dream when we took the big leap 6 years ago and bought this dream house.
  3. We love travelling almost as much as we love living in New Farm.
