About our home

Our 1920s terrace house is small but comfortable and very well located for exploring the funky, artsy inner-city suburb of Newtown. Walking distance to umpteen local pubs, bars, cafes, parks, shops and both trains and buses. Coffee and food in this area is just amazing, there are new options every week. Vintage shopping, street art, secondhand bookstores and art galleries by day, live music and cocktails by night. Fairly lively nightlife but of the small bar variety rather than the nightclub variety. Also outside Sydney City's unhelpful lockout laws which means the bars can close when they feel like it. We're about 5km from Sydney CBD - 10min by train and 15min by bus. The Newtown train line runs straight to Circular Quay (where all the famous stuff is).

The house has a single front bedroom with a king-size bed which opens into the lounge room. Extensive book collection (heavy on science fiction/fantasy), internet and music player. Compact but fully-equipped kitchen including oven, microwave and espresso machine. One small bathroom with bath/shower and washing machine. We have a pocket sized back terrace surrounded by trees (thank you next-door neighbour) with a washing line and attempts at a veggie garden (depending on the season). Small entertaining space with BBQ and a hammock, although putting the hammock up requires some reconfiguration!

Best suited for couples or friends who don't mind sharing a bed. It's feasible to put a mattress in the living room for an older child or teenager but the house is not really set up for toddlers or small children.
