About our home

Set in natural bush forest on 2.5 hectares above a deep valley, kangaroos, green parrots and kookaburras abound. Safe for kids, paved terraces link three secluded buildings. Main has open plan dining, lounge, TV nook and kitchen. Folding doors open the dining area to the bush. Pantry, laundry, bathroom, separate toilet. Upstairs a double bedroom and a couple of single floor mattresses for kids. Separate cottage has bedroom, en suite and dressing space. Double doors to garden. Both have terra-cotta tile floors , colourful informal decor, a relaxing ambience. The modern pavilion has balcony overlooking the bush, two bedrooms share a bathroom, separate extra basin and toilet. A wheeled gas BBQ does the outside cooking: plenty of outside furniture. 2 bicycles.

Margaret River region is a sophisticated tourist destination is spoilt for choice of beautiful safe beaches, over 100 wineries offering free tastings, breweries and quality restaurants. Dunsborough village and safe beach are 3 minutes away by car. Busselton 35 mins away has urban facilities.Activities: a unique walk-in underwater observatory at the end of Busselton’s kilometer long pier, reptile park, kids fun parks, golf, boating, riding, local markets, aboriginal experiences, art galleries and craft furniture.Walk-trails in bush and forest with lovely scenery. Geographe Bay and Cape Naturaliste were first charted by French explorers, with many reminders of that connection.

Buzzy restaurants
Dozens of wineries and breweries cater for lunch, at every price point. Half a dozen goood night restauruants within 20 minutes drive.
Cool bars
Cape wine bar in Dunsborough, eat there too, often live music.
Cozy cafés
Several in Dunsborough. Inland villages all have home catering style cafes.
Retail therapy
Local boutiques, but Busselton and Bunbury, 30 and 60 mins away have it all.
Bit of culture
Local music and choral groups, many top flight art galleries, local artists, cinema in Busselton
Walks in the park
Walk or cycle on smooth paths under trees next to the beach at Dunsborough and many more beautiful experiences
Spot of exercise
Meelup national park has bays with white sand beaches, rocky headlands and turquoise sea. The Leeuwin-Naturaliste National park has a 5 day coastal walk to Augusta, and the Bibbulman track 1000 Km long offers signposted day walks in forest.
Day tripping
To Busselton pier, over a Km long and the underwater life observatory at the end, with wonderful wild fish in a coral environment, Inland to Pemberton to climb a 60 meter Karri tree and teste cool climate wines or stay local and do free wine tasting at over 100 wineries in the region. Many facilities for kids.
