About our home

My home will suit people who love the environment, rivers, walking and community living yet want to be close enough to easily attend cultural and city lifestyle events. Facing a State Government native reserve in Warrandyte, its on over half an acre of very productive planting and beautiful flowers and mainly nature shrubs. It's a very comfortable home with big north facing views over the parkland from all front windows, and a larger verandah. It is designed for energy efficiency and care for nature. There are water tanks for gardening and solar panels. Parquetry floors cover a large open plan dining and lounge area, with dining room seating for 10 as well as a kitchen in the open plan, with colonial table. There is a stone chimney with lovely instant gas heating flame, as well as central heating. Through double doors, the sitting room with large screen television also has a stone chimney and gas fire and two bedrooms, a bathroom, and the study are off this room. The main bedroom and another bathroom and bedroom and laundry are at the other end of the house. Consistent with my choice of making a low impact on the environment, there is no clothes dryer, but there is a dishwasher in the kitchen!
There are many easy drives for wonderful outdoor experiences in walking, dining, markets and Melbourne is just 40 minutes away. The freeways to the south for beaches and north to explore Victoria's fascinating country towns, is within easy reach. Being a small community, separated by orchards and parks from suburbia, it has its own proud community flavour with local plays, music and sporting events.
