About our home

Ours is a truly unique property, located on Guana Cay in the Abaco Islands, which are lesser known, uncommercialized islands of the Bahamas. Our home is located on the water, with the Sea of Abaco in front and Susan's Cove in the back. We have lots of huge windows and there are water views from every window in the home!

The home is very comfortably furnished with every amenity you may need for a perfect getaway. There are vaulted ceilings and fans in every room. There is a great room/kitchen that is very open. The master bedroom has a king size bed and its own private bath. The other two bedrooms share a bath; one has a queen size bed and the other has a bunk bed with a twin and double.

There is a wrap around deck with tables set up on both the Sea and Harbor sides for outdoor dining. We have a 100' dock on the harbor side to accommodate your rental boat (lots of places to rent from in the area). Out front, there is a swim platform for enjoying the azure blue waters of the Sea of Abaco.

Our location is quiet, peaceful, and private, but there are some great informal beach-front restaurants and bars nearby. The are a number of underwater preserves in the Abacos, which provide beautiful snorkeling and underwater picture taking opportunities. In addition, there are a multitude of locations nearby for diving, fishing (line or spear), lobstering, and beach combing. Stunning beaches are a short boat ride or walk away. Ours is a great location, whether you are looking for activity or simply want to relax and enjoy the sun, water, and views.

As our home in the Bahamas is a second home, we are very flexible in terms of availability.

A boat rental is REQUIRED as we are located on a small peninsula, nearly surrounded by water and access to the house is only by boat. Rentals are available from any one of the many rental companies on Marsh Harbor, where the airport is located, or on Guana Cay.

Due to the design of the deck railings, the house is not appropriate for very young children, but older children would be fine. Your well-behaved pet is welcome, but we ask that you please not bring a pet if you think there may be issues. We ask that you do not smoke inside, but outside on the deck is fine.

The Abaco Islands were originally settled back in the 1700's by Loyalists from America. The area is not heavily developed with big resorts, but mostly populated with private homes that run the gamut from smaller and quaint to huge and luxurious. The Abacos are approximately a 1 hour flight from south Florida. The locals are fun and friendly. There are few cars, and most travel is done by boat. We do have two bikes you are welcome to use. There's lots of stunning tropical vegetation and, of course, that amazing blue water. The clarity of the water defies description, and often we can see dolphin and fish in the water right from our deck. The snorkeling and diving is some of the best in the world, and you can expect to see a multitude of beautiful fish and sea life, including turtles and rays, The waters in the area are very easy to navigate, and you can enjoy skipping from our island to other islands in the Abacos, as they are a short distance away. There are some fun shops to explore on the main island of Marsh Harbor, as well.
