About our home

Heronsbridge is a lovely country home set in 10 acres of gardens, lawns, forest, and fields. It is surrounded by other country estates in a peaceful valley bordered by the Fraser River on one side, and wooded hills and snow-capped mountains on the other. There are multiple verandas and terraces for relaxing and entertaining; they look out onto the salt water pool and hot tub, the flower and vegetable garden and orchard, and the gazebo overlooking the pond and massive cedar trees. The house is 6000 square feet and has an atmosphere of relaxed formality, with a large kitchen, a formal dining room, a vaulted ceiling family room with a grand piano, and a games room (ping pong, etc). There is also a detached loft studio apartment, ideal for a nanny, cook, or guests.
There are 6 bicyles (1 is a tandem) for exploring the country lanes surrounding the house. We have one of the mildest climates in Canada (average August temperature is 24 degrees Celsius, with highs over 30 degrees), and the outdoor recreational activities are extensive, including golfing, mountain biking, hiking, white-water rafting, canoeing, boating, and rock climbing. There are many small farms, orchards, and artisan food producers in our neighbourhood (vineyards, goat cheese, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, farm markets, etc). We are 1 hour from the Olympic host city of Vancouver, with its world-class dining and shopping, and the coast, where ferries can be taken to the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island. We are also 10 minutes from the United States border (State of Washington).
