About our home

This is an 1830s "Loyalist" farmhouse that has been completely restored and is furnished with painted "Canadiana" antiques. It is located on 100 acres of planted fields, including our small pinot noir vineyard. Five bedrooms (three together on the second floor, one loft bedroom (which can accommodate a family with one or two young kids and is separated from the rest of the sleeping quarters) and one private ground floor bedroom with French doors opening out onto the back terrace and pool). Three well-appointed bathrooms recently redone including one with a cast iron "slipper tub". Amazing Chef's kitchen with 6 burner Wolf stove, Miele speedcook oven, warming drawer and fireplace. Huge marble kitchen island and cathedral ceiling. Spectacular screened-in porch with fireplace (and hidden television) and a large trestle table overlooking our fields and in-ground heated pool surrounded by a beautiful perennial garden and herb and flower cutting garden. Apple trees and pear trees on the property for picking during harvest. Private laneway that crosses our property for daily walks (or snowshoeing in winter). We are minutes from over forty wineries and cideries, great restaurants and the famous Sandbanks beach. We are also minutes from spectacular cycling, including the "Millenium Trail". This is a kid-friendly area and there are many great festivals and events (principally with food/ wine themes) throughout the year.

Our property is wonderfully private with a long drive off of a rarely travelled road, but has the unique advantage of being just minutes away from locals towns (Wellington and Bloomfield in particular), shops, wineries, and restaurants.
