About our home

Our family cottage is located on the shore of Lake Scugog, just 1 hour from Toronto and 15 minutes from Port Perry!

The Main House is approximately 1500 square feet. It has a soaring cathedral ceiling, open concept kitchen, living room and dining room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Lake Scugog with it's marvelous sunsets. It is only 8 years old and features a beautiful bathroom, ground floor master bedroom and huge second floor loft. There is a gas fire place, tv, deck and laundry facilities.

The Guest Cottage is approximately 10 years old with two bedrooms, a bathroom and open concept kitchen, living room and dining room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake. There is also a wood burning stove and walk out to a deck leading down to the lake.

Our street is a quiet dead-end street with it's own park just 5 houses down the road. There is also a small 9 hole "pitch and putt" golf course for the residents to use. We call it our cottage as we use it as a second home, but it is a residential neighbourhood right on the lake.

In the summer you can fish from the dock, canoe or kayak (or even bring your own boat). Windsurfing is great (although we don't own one so you would have to bring your own). The lake is a sandy bottom and very shallow for a long way out so it's great for kids to play.

In the winter you can go ice fishing, skate on the lake right in front of the cottage or cross country ski for miles across the lake.

There is a small town just five minutes drive away with a boat launch and small store and restaurant or Port Perry is 15 minutes drive and is a lovely, quaint town with lots of grocery stores, shops and excellent restaurants.

We're in our 40's and I am from Toronto and sell residential real estate. My husband is originally from England and a professional chef who teaches at the college in Toronto. We have two boys 15 and 11 years old who both swim competetively and love to travel. They are well behaved and respectful of other peoples homes. We do not smoke and would expect no smoking in our home. We do have a dog, but she would stay with friends while we travel.

We are able to do non-simutaneous exchanges too.
