About our home

Fantastic 2000 sf loft on 2 floors in the prime area of Old Montreal - walk to world class restaurants, art, music, great shopping, luxurious and unique spas. Views of Old Montreal and St Lawrence river from every room. Modern interior inside an 1850's building formerly owned by the Grey Nuns, now with doormen and rooftop terrace to watch fireworks all thru the summer. Master bedroom upstairs with bathroom, plus a large office with a second bathroom (modern, walk in shower), high quality double sofabed with Beautyrest mattress sleeps 2. We also have a blow-up mattress that can sleep 1 or 2, good for kids! There is a large private terrace overlooking the river, park, and square. The location can't be beat, walk to everything! We absolutely love living here. Our cats live here too and need care if you are comfortable with that, or we will arrange someone to come by each day when you are out.

Visit Montreal for our world class Jazz fest at the end of June/early July (10 minute walk to the main stages), the Grand Prix in early June, plus the Dance Festival, Comedy Festival, Film Festival, etc etc all summer long! There are river excursions, kayaking on the canal, and La Ronde amusement park is a short distance from us. In winter try snow shoeing, dog sledding, skiing and skating, then warm up with mulled wine by our wood fireplace while the snow flies outside. Extraordinary, innovative food, art, and culture all year long.

Outside our door is the beautiful Old Port area and the riverfront, but our building is tranquil and quiet. We are located right on historic Place Youville where the French first settled 375 years ago. Before the Europeans this spot was a lively trading point for First Nations for centuries. Now we have an active quarter with the Pte a Calliere museum on the corner, a world class French bakery and pastry school on Place Royale, lovely shops, bars, and of course delicious food food food! Stop at a terrace and have a drink while watching the passersby. We are a 2 minute stroll to the waterfront, it's a 10 minute walk to downtown, and 5 min to the metro stations Square Victoria or Place d'Armes, taxis are plentiful and reasonable. We are open to swapping cars as well!
