About our home

Nestled in the historic neighborhood of Pointe-Saint-Charles, this 2,000 square feet Irish rowhouse offers a superb vantage point from which to explore beautiful Montreal. Though a mere 25 minute walk from the downtown core, the house is within a quiet, residential corner of the city. Built in 1885, the house has recently been restored with all the original charm in mind, with brick walls, wood beams and floors, five appliances, home theater system and large backyard with patio. Nearby points of interest include the Lachine Canal, Old Montreal, Bell Centre, underground commercial district, Atwater Market and a plethora of parks. Easy access to public transportation. One week minimum stay for peak Summer and Christmas seasons. Otherwise, two night minimum stay.

Near three parks, easy stay for families with children. Very spacious area, backyard, and lots of parking space on the street. Three buses that go directly to downtown area, and bike path nearby (one bike included).

The neighborhood is quiet, in a gentrifying neighborhood.

We are a professional couple, a teacher and a writer with a 19 month old daughter. We do not own a car, and never felt the need to own one since the public transportation is so practical in our area. I am a runner, and love to either run or bike to work. My husband works at home as a free lance writer. We love to go for walks in the city, or the neighborhood, enjoying the Atwater market nearby or Old Montreal which is a quick 6 minute bus ride, or 20 minute walk away.
I speak French and English and I understand Italian, my husband can get by on Spanish. I teach French during the day, and piano after work.
We love cooking, museums, travel, and entertaining people in our big open kitchen.
