About our home

(Texte français ci-après)
We are looking for an exchange for our 2013 summer holidays.

Our home is a large (250 sq. m./ 2600 sq. ft.), two-bedroom + a studio house in a beautiful Montreal graystone built in 1900. Completely restored in the mid-nineties, it has kept many original features, such as its old pine wooden floors, its structural brick walls, and its old wood staircase. High ceilings with original moldings make it even more inviting.

The house has a balcony in the front, and a quiet enclosed deck/terrace on the second floor in the back of the house. The terrace is a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast or an evening drink unless you want to spend time on Prince-Arthur street, a pedestrian street 100 meters from the house.

Le Plateau Mont-Royal, where the house is located, is très hip and multi-ethnic. Originally a working class district, le Plateau has grown to be a favorite place to live for local artists, students, professionals, and young families. It is within walking distance of downtown Montreal, Old Montreal and Chinatown. It is also within a ten minutes walk of the well known Montreal Jazz Festival which is held every year at the end of June, beginning of July.
________________________
