About our home

Our home is located in Brackendale, at the northern end of Squamish. Our town boasts as the Recreation Capital of Canada. Here you will find world class hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, kiteboarding, windsurfing, white water rafting, kayaking and so much more! Just 40 minutes north you will find the world class ski resort of Whister Blackcomb and one hour south, the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver. Aside from outdoor sports, in the summer we host one of the biggest music festivals in Canada, the Squamish Valley Music Festival. Our house is a 10 min. bike ride from the grounds. This is easily the highlight of our summer.

Our home is 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. We are currently using one bedroom as an office but the futon can easily be converted into a bed for a second bedroom if needed. The entire house was renovated just a few years ago and so everything is very new, including all appliances (bathroom is currently going through renovation and will be brand new very shortly, pictures to be added when it is). We have a large shared yard, with a beautiful garden, a private BBQ, parking space and we are open to including our car into the exchange (a car is recommended when getting to Whistler and Vancouver). We own three vintage cruiser bikes and they are great for getting around town in the spring to the fall.

We pride our home on simplicity and things vintage and unique, most of which has been inherited from family. You will find lots of fun things including a record player from 1953 and a full vintage pinwheel crystal stocked bar!

**Our home is the ground floor suite of a two story building. We co-own the property with our wonderful and very friendly family, who live on the upper floor (2 adults, 2 children). It is basically the same living arrangements as a flat/apartment, it is not completely sound proof and the laundry room and the yard are shared.

More about us

  1. We're a creative couple. We're both musicians who love an adventure and a great bottle of wine.
  2. Samantha is an Early Childhood Educator studying for an Advanced Certificate in Wine Studies. Andre is a Carpenter studying Audio Engineering.
  3. In 2015, we are looking to spend a longer-term stay in the UK to visit family and see more of Europe in general. We are however open to other offers, especially New York City.
