About our home

Our home is all about comfortable living. It is very quiet and private, which is surprising given the proximity to so many of Vancouver’s best destination venues. It offers both a tranquil place to relax and a convenient base for exploring and enjoying Vancouver.

Vancouver is blessed to have miles of sea walls to walk or cycle all around the Westside and Downtown, and a great number of parks and green space, with the 1,000 acre Stanley Park being a favourite for many. Our home provides a wonderful starting point to take it all in. Enjoy walks or bicycle rides, with destinations including Granville Island Market, restaurants and artisan studios, Jericho and Kitsilano beaches, UBC (Pacific Spirit Park forest trails, Golf Course or Tennis Centre), and various clusters of shops, galleries and restaurants. If you prefer to drive, fifteen minutes is the most you’ll need to get to most Westside destinations and even downtown.

That means you can enjoy the freedom of walking to your choice of evening venues. Choose a renowned restaurant in the South Granville area just a half a kilometre away, or perhaps head over the bridge for a concert or to downtown’s vibrant Yaletown and Gastown districts. Take a cab home from any of these locations for under $20, or take public transit, which stops one or two blocks from the house, depending on the line.

In the summertime, Vancouver comes especially alive. Kitsilano Beach (just a kilometre stroll away) provides a host of options from Bard on the Beach (Shakespeare), to The Childen's Festval, Firework display vantage points, swimming at the open air Kitsilano pool, tennis courts and strolls around the seawall into Granville Island. At Jericho beach you can rent paddle boards, kayaks and windsurfing equipment. Or hike the local mountains (easy to challenging), which you can reach within a 40 minute drive.

Whistler, a top rated four season resort is just an hour and a half away, and hosts many summer festivals. BC Ferries enables day-trips to the Gulf Islands, or longer trips to tour Vancouver Island or island hop.

Tennis racquets, bikes, and sit-on-top kayaks are here for you to use.

Also, we have a lovely south-facing patio. This is a quiet place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, a good book or, later at night, a glass of wine and conversation by the glow of the fire.

Please come and enjoy our home and our beautiful West Coast lifestyle.
