About our home

Our home is about 1200 sq feet. It is the upstairs of a house, with 2 bedrooms, a large dining room, living room, new kitchen and office. Main bath plus ensuite off master. Features include being bright an sunny, and has air conditioning, a gas barbecue on the deck, a large yard, TV & internet access, microwave, off-street parking. We have friendly neighbours downstairs as well as next door.

Our neighbourhood features mature trees and people are always out walking. There are several parks nearby, as well as a linear walking trail that used to be a train track-great for cycling right into downtown Victoria. The neighbourhood is close to lots of shopping, yet is tucked away in a quiet location in the suburb of Colwood. Within 1 -2 km you will find, a golf course, train up-island, restaurants, shopping centre, and cycling path. Within 5-7 km are golf (others), beaches, parks and small lakes, artist's studio's. The area is known for kayaking, sailing, hiking, cycling, beaches, and nature sites.

Downtown Victoria is a 15-20 minute drive. It is picturesque and very safe to walk in the evenings. It is famous for whale watching tours, seafood restaurants, museums and theatres, all kinds of sightseeing, buskers demonstrating all their talents nightly on the inner harbour. Best of all, on the first Sunday of August, there a free outdoor concert called the Symphony Splash which finishes with fireworks accompanying the music.

Liane speaks both English and French. Ross speaks English. He is an engineer, works for a community college as chair of the mechanical department. Liane is a high-school teacher, who mainly does on-call work.

We are looking for something in the northeastern US or eastern Canada for Aug 15-22. Our home is available from July 1-21.
