About our home

The house is located on a large view lot within easy walking distance to the city core, beaches and parks.

It is a custom designed and exceedingly well built home less than 20 years old and its style reflects the many original Art Deco Homes located nearby. The yard is easy care with many mature fir trees. A large rock (20m high) backstops the home and offers striking backdrop to the Dinning Room and ensuite bath.

The house was designed by a scultor. It combines artistry and lifestyle and is still regarded as a very warm and cosy place to live.

A van is available as part of the exchange if desired.

The neighbourhood is made up of large freestanding homes approximately 50 years old with well cared for yards. Everything is close. You can walk or take nearby public transport. There are ocean views but you can easily walk to the beach and see it first hand.

Victoria is situated on one of the largest islands in the Pacific. It is consistantly ranked as one of the most livable cities on the planet. It is in the center of one of the four best boating regions on the planet and the nearby ski facilities have been voted the best in North America (by the Americans) so often that no one is surprised.

The climat is mediterranean (very dry summers) with yet the temperatures and humidity are so low that you seldom need air conditioning. The local gardens are expectional (everything grows fast and well). The city has attracted more than its share of retired people from all over the world.

I would recommend you search the web for Victoria BC and you will find I have covered only a few of the area's many features.

We could live almost anywhere but have chosen Victoria.

My wife and I are retired. I was an Engineer, consultant and businessman. My wife was a health care professional.

We enjoy traveling and have had the opportunity to see much of the world but for the past two decades, we have focused on cycling in Europe. We would be traveling with our long time friends (retired professional couple) who are fluent in French.

It is our desire to walk, cycle and just hang out in Europe between May and October 2008. During that time, we would like to swap homes (or boats) with couples in Europe. We can and would adjust our times to suit you.

We are non-smokers and I have extensive experience at managing all mechanical and housing related issues should they arise. Your property would be in extremely safe and competent hands.
