About our home

We live in a peaceful, leafy suburb of Helsinki, within an easy reach to Helsinki downtown. Public transportation is comfortable and reliable and has been ranked among the best in Europe. It takes only 20 minutes by car or by bus to travel downtown. Our home area is very child-friendly and close to nature.

Our beautiful home is built in 1994, has 112 m2 with 4 bedrooms, newly renovated modern kitchen with all the cooking utensils and dining corner, living room with a fire place, 2 bathrooms + own sauna, a beautiful garden with a BBQ and a trampoline and playing area for kids.

Helsinki is a modern European city, where more than 450 years of history and tradition blend seamlessly with contemporary design and trends. Cosy and compact is size, exploring the Finnish capital is stress free. There are many nice restaurants and good shopping in Helsinki. The ocean is only 15 minutes away by car. Finland joined EURO in 2001. Most Finns speak excellent English and even in remote areas you are likely to find a person able to help you in English. You should not have any difficulties when it comes to language.

Influences from both the East and West are evident in everyday Helsinki: architecture, cuisine, design and customs are bare evidence of a past Russian and Swedish rule. Situated by the Baltic Sea, Helsinki's shoreline is about 100 km's long and has about 300 islands.

In summer time, the sun is still shining at 10 pm in Helsinki on midsummer. You can also experience endless summer days in northern Finland: in Lapland a single day lasts for over two months. That is where you can also meet Santa Claus - don't pull off his beard! You have probably heard about our winters - it's pure magic!

In summer time ask for the possibility to stay at our nice summer cottage by a lake only 1 hours drive from Helsinki: go to the sauna, swim in the lake and walk in the woods. After your holiday in Finland, you will miss the honest people, the endless summer nights, space to breathe, clean water from the tap, birch trees, that after sauna feeling, the smell of the forest and the peace and quiet. Welcome to Finland!

Take a day trip to Tallinn, Estonia. It is only a 2 hours ship cruise to Tallinn, which is a very beautiful city.If you want to explore futher away, take a ferry to Stockholm, Sweden. It is also possible to travel with a direct train connection or ferry to St. Petersburg in Russia. The archipelago of Helsinki consists of many islands, providing a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
