About our home

Originally built in the late 1700's, our historic stone farmhouse has been lovingly restored over the years into a comfortable home with modern conveniences while maintaining its original French country charm and romance. Nestled in the small hamlet of Moussac, near Charme in the Charente River region, we have decorated the home with authentic French antiques that make the interior as picturesque as the surrounding countryside. If you've dreamed of escaping to another place and time - then "chez nous a la campagne" might be for you. The pace of life is slower. Pick up a breakfast delicacy from the local boulangerie to enjoy with a pot of coffee. Lie on the day-beds and get lost in a good book.... you'll forget what time it is and be inspired to cook. Enjoy the delicious local wines and cognacs. Bicycle past fields of sunflowers. Swim or kayak in the river at Echoise. Shop for antiques at a local brocante (bric-a-brac sale). Mix with locals at a neighbouring village fete. BBQ under the trees in the back yard at sunset. Enjoy the fruits of our orchard. Make a day-trip to the beach at La Rochelle. Stay as long as you like .... it'll grow on you and you'll get lost in the romance of the pace and the authenticity of the locals.
