About our home
Bright and charming duplex (73 m2 / 785 sqf) at the 4th and 5th floor of a 19th century building. Upstairs you will find an open space with a fully equipped kitchen (including microwave, dishwasher and oven), a sofa (convertible to a double bed), an electronic piano, a table seating 4 to 6 people, and a small WC. Downstairs: the bedroom (with a french-sized - means small - double bed) and a large bathroom with a washing machine. Wooden floors everywhere except kitchen and WCs. High-speed wifi internet connection. Heating controlled by guest (the flat heats up fairly quickly). No air conditioning and no lift/elevator (but the lower floors of our building are not high-ceilinged, walking up 5 floors feels more like 3 or 4). We provide bed linen and towels.
The 10th arrondissement is hip and happening: new bistronomic restaurants, small shops and artisans, old Paris feel. It is right in the middle of Paris' right bank area: walk 5 minutes to Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est and three metro stations, 10 min. to Canal St. Martin, 20 min. to Montmartre, and 30 min. to Notre-Dame athedral. Both Charles-De-Gaulle and Orly airports are just one RER B train ride from Gare du Nord. Supermarkets, food markets and all kinds of shops can be found 0-3 minutes walking from the flat.
My husband and I have been living in this apartment for the last 5 years: we filled it up with objects coming from all over the world, old and modern books, spices, what hav you. Everything is flooded by light (well, on sunny days!), and every detail has a story to tell.
About kids: we're not against, but this being a duplex there's an internal staircase between 4th and 5th floors. It's very steep, and there's no easy way to prevent toddlers and young children from falling and hurting themselves (also keep this in mind if you have any mobility problem).
No pets, however, and absolutely no smoking please.
