About our home

We live in a spectacular 4-bedroom Hausseman apartment in the 17th arrondissement, in the centre of Paris near the lovely park Monceau. We are a 15 minute walk from the Arc de Triumphe, and 35 minute walk to the Tour d’Eiffel . Our 230 square meter (2500 square feet) apartment is spacious with 3.2-meter (11 foot) ceilings and lovely crown moldings... There is a huge living and dining room with herringbone wood floors and Juliette windows, running from ceiling to floor. Our large ,brand new ,eat-in kitchen is the jewel in the crown because few people in Paris have one. The master bedroom, with ensuite bathroom, has a queen-sized Tempur bed. Two of the bedrooms have bunkbeds ( single top, double bottom and trundle pull out single bed). The fourth bedroom has a single bed. We also have a double futon in the front room. There are two other bathrooms, and two separate toilets. This apartment has just been renovated, while preserving the original architectural features.

Our neighbourhood has everything you require. There are wine and flower shops, patisseries and chocolatiers. There are grocery, clothes and book stores and we are around the corner from an open air vegetable market. In short, everything you need. Metros and buses are minutes away and a car is more a hindrance than anything else. We don’t have one. The very large Parc Monceau is around the corner.

We are a family of 6 experienced home-exchangers. Our 4 children are Leah (15), Julian (13), Anna (11), and Thea (8). They are extremely well-behaved and respect other people’s property, as well as their own. Mike works for a French company here in Paris but we are originally from Montreal. We moved from Canada to Paris in August, 2006. Susannah takes care of the whole boiling. We have a lovely, large black cat named Gretel . We would need you to take care of her.
