Chios Aegean Island, Chios

Tasty apartment in Beautiful Aegean Island of Chios-Greece

About our home

Chios island is situated at the crossroads between the East and West.It is located in the north-east part of the Aegean archipelago of Islands and one of the biggest islands in Greece.
The apartment is a part of a three-storeyed neoclassical mansion which is situated at the very heart of the historical and trade centre of Chios, close to the port.
The building is an example of 19th century neoclassical architecture, also being influenced by the local tradition and the local builders’ passion but with all modern facilities and comforts .
It was completely restored and renovated in 2003 with ecological materials, however with respect to the traditional character and features of the building itself. A real effort has been made to maintain its style using mainly pure stone and wood as well as a big collection of old utility objects found in the mansion like chests, jars, paintings etc.

The apartment is situated in the very heart of the island of Chios, you get an easy and quick access to every place of interest on the island, while its historical and trade centre is within walking distance. Its capital, Hora, is a busy town with great influence from Byzantium, the Ottoman Empire and the Genoans as well.
Moreover, it is a great advantage that you are able to wander around the idyllic port full of little taverns, cosy cafés, bars or even nightclubs if also interested in tasting nightlife. Furthermore, you can really enjoy quiet walks around its narrow alleys inside its unique Castle, where, among its walls, a lively, busy and noisy little town is revealed unspoilt by the time passing by, just like in mediaeval times.

We are a couple of Architects very interested in travelling, knowing worlds' different cultures and architectures.
We are just 2 person but we do not mind exchanges with up to 4.
We speak English, Italian and Greek
