My 3 storey townhouse was built 5 years ago and is designed with a mix of a shabby chic look filled with contemporary art. It is located in the middle of Barna village, 4 miles outside of Galway city, with the best coffee shops, trendy boutiques, great pubs and the award winning boutique 'twelve hotel' and O'Grady's on the Pier restaurant just outside your door. You are also across the road from the famous Galway Bay where you can swim and admire the Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher (nearly!) from the water. Or instead you can sit on the deck outside O'Gradys on the Pier, (voted best seafood restaurant in Ireland in 2008) eating garlic crab claws and drinking a pint of Guinness while you watch the swimmers and boats/fishermen come and go from the pier. You are also at the gateway of Connemara and great location for day trips to the Aran Islands, Clifden, Kylemore Abbey, Ashford Castle, Westport, etc. Galway city is located by the sea and is full of culture, art and shopping and is world famous for its Arts Festival in July and Oyster Festival in September. My house is suitable mainly for adults but can accommodate 1 child if necessary.
