About our home
Situated a mile from the local village and set on 3 quarters of an acre our home is split between the main 7 bed house and an attached but self contained 1 bed apartment.
The main house has 2 double rooms (1 with en suite) and 5 single rooms, living room, large kitchen,/dining room, kids play room and bathroom. 2 of the bedrooms are upstairs in the converted attic.
Most of the bedrooms have space for extra single beds if required.
The house runs on Geothermal underfloor heating but also has an open fire in the living room. This house is never cold and has constant hot water!
We have satellite t.v. (in 4 rooms), large american style fridge, dish washer, freezer, washing machine, dryer, double oven, ceramic hob, phone, wifi, PS3, X-Box, Wii, 14 foot trampoline with surround, climbing frame with swings, large decking.
We have a large supply of DVD's to keep kids occupied, with TV and dvd player in each room.
The apartment is a 1 Bedroom (double bed) set to the side of the main house. It has a sitting room, dining area, kitchen and bathroom also. Its heating is run by an oil boiler but also has a wood burning stove which in itself can make the apartment extremely cosy.
Hob and oven, dishwasher,fridge/freezer, washing machine, dryer, electric shower.
It has its own segregated back garden but with an adjoining gate to the main back garden.
Our home is located along a small lane overlooking fields and pastures with beautiful views of Tara Hill and is approximately 1 mile from the small village of Ballycanew, which has a Primary School, a couple of bars, a petrol station, a chip shop, a launderette, a convienience store and a hair dresser.
8 km further is the large town of Gorey, with bars, night clubs, restaurants, shopping, supermarkets (LIDL, ALDI, Tesco, Dunnes Stores,Supervalue), hotels, skate park, train station running to Dublin or Wexford.
Courtown is about 8 km away, Courtown is a small village on the coast with a harbour and a beutiful beach along with forest walks. There is an indoor swimming pool and outdoor activity centre called gravity, with climbing, zip wires and orienteering.
Via the M11 motorway at Gorey, Dublin and all its wonder and history is only a hour away.
To get there you pass through county Wicklow which is known as the Garden of Ireland, with many fantastic locations to visit such as Glendalough, Wicklow Gaol, Blessington Lakes to name a few.
The motorway network in Ireland has improved greatly in the past few years, so much so that in just 3 hours you could be in Limerick, where you can go to Bunratty Castle and attend a Medievil Banquet.
