About our home

We bought our beautiful farmhouse in the summer of 2008 and renovated the property including adding a swimming pool and completely remodeling the gardens. The house sits in 6 hectares of land including the landscaped area with pool and a large wooded area beyond. There is a path that runs around the boundary of the property which is perfect for family walks and kids adventures into the forest.

Our views are spectacular. There are vineyards in the surrounding fields and on a clear day we have a breathtaking panoramic view of the Alps which are near enough for a weekend of fabulous skiing in the winter and great mountain adventures in the summer. We regularly to daytrips to our favourite beaches of the Ligurian coast and, as if Italy didn't have enough to offer, we occasionally indulge ourselves with a lovely coastal drive into southern France.

Piemonte is very proud of its world famous wine and food and our house, on the border between the Langhe and the Monferrato regions, is perfectly placed to enjoy some of the best wine and food that Italy has to offer: it's world famous Barolo's (red wine), the internationally renowned nocciole (hazlenuts) from which Nutella and Ferrero Rocher are made, and the much coveted extraordinary delights of the tartufo bianco (white truffle) to name but a few.

But above all the house is a lovely family home with all the warmth that this entails, reconstructed with love and attention to detail and a delightful, comfortable, relaxing place to spend quality time with loved ones and to enjoy nature at its best.

Buzzy restaurants
You'll be spoilt for choice. The majority are traditional, the emphasis is on the quality of the food and the warmth of the service. Our favourites are La Sosta in Montebone and for a real treat, Guido da Costigliole in Santo Stefano
Cool bars
Turin and Milan have lots of cool choices.
Cozy cafés
both Alba and Asti are full of great cafes, or watch the world go by from one of the cafes in the local towns of Canelli and Nizza Monferrato.
Retail therapy
Milan is 90 minutes away, Turin is about 50 minutes. You are also only an hour away from Serravalle, one of the biggest shopping outlets in Europe.
Bit of culture
take your pick.. it's Italy!
Walks in the park
enjoy walks through our forest, or beyond into the surrounding countryside where you'll enjoy great views
Spot of exercise
If you want a change from the local countryside, skiing or hiking in the Alps is close as is swimming in the Mediterranean
Day tripping
Turin, Milan, the Ligurian Coast, Portofino, the Alps, even Monte Carlo!
