15th century Villa and Cantina, 400 sq.meters (4300 sq ft) in the heart of Tuscany's Chianti Classico Region. Set amid a 78 hectare (193 acre) vineyard with Cantina in a premium wine country location. Close to Florence, Siena and San Gimignano (30-50 minutes) and many nearby hilltop villages including Panzano, Greve, Impruneta and San Casciano Val di Pesa, each a 15 minute drive offering shopping and numerous restaurants. Nearest shopping is in Mercatale, a five minute drive with a food market, shops and bus connections to Florence for day tripping (SITA bus, about 30 minutes costing 5.60 euros round). Wine tasting abounds in the area as well as many local markets. A large selection of country trattorias and restaurants are within a 10 to 20 minute drive of the Villa offering typical Tuscan cuisine. Castello Il Palagio and Castello Gabiano, landmark medieval castles are close by. On the ground floor are two large salons and master suite with two baths, kitchen, larder, library and office. On the second floor is a 3rd salon with fireplace situated between two double bedrooms and a bath. An inner courtyard with dining table seating up to 14 is equipped with a pizza oven. A swim pool with gazebo allow for outdoor dining including one with a view of the landmark 9th century S. Stephano Church. The dining room with fireplace creates a magical environment for candlelit dining. Features include High Speed Internet, Sky TV Premium Sports package and Apple TV. Temperatures during the summer months are more moderate than in Florence averaging 4-6 degrees celsius cooler. Views of forest and vineyards in every direction with many hiking trails. The snow capped Apuan Alps can be seen in the distance in the Autumn and Winter with alpine ski resorts within an hour and a half drive. Mediterranean beach resorts are an hour and 15 minute drive.
