We have 2013 Swaps already Agreed! A charming large tropical colonial house in the old town of Funchal, the sea is 300meters down the road. The house is about 110years old and was fully restored five years ago. The inside is comfortable, elegant and very spacious. Three floors, each with a large veranda with spectacular views of the bay of Funchal. Climate is not too hot in summer (average temp summer max 26-30º) but warm all year round, very warm winters compared to the rest of Europe (lowest about 17º). the sea is spectacular and is just in front. The house has around 900m2 of land, with a private terraced garden complete with summer house (which acts as a private gym). Very charming outside dining areas (at least 3 different settings) a large barbecue (wood supplied). 4 bedrooms with high ceilings and oak floors, comfortable light decoration. Lots of things to entertain children or teenagers (tree-house, football table, wii, various televisions, internet, books). Large luxurious modern bathrooms. Behind the house on a different door and entrance we have 2 self-catering flats with whom only your pool is shared. Pool is very nice as it is surrounded by banana trees (pool is 7mx4m). Very charming house, large kitchen, library filled with English, French & Portuguese books and living room and dining area. Downstairs near the garden is another large childrens living room with TV and games. Sea Views from nearly every room in the house. Peaceful residential area. No car necessary as it is a central location and you can walk to all the major attractions. House has large LCD TV in Living room and in the 2 main bedrooms. Bedrooms: 2 bedrooms with double beds (main bedroom 2mX2m bed), 2 childrens bedrooms with twin beds). Bathrooms: Blue bathroom is huge with walk in shower, bath, seaview terrace and white greek marble; Yellow bathroom with walk in shower, bath and white marble; Ground bathroom with mosaics and bath; Social bathroom near living room. Laundry room and washing machines. Sky Satellite and cable TV, free wifi internet all throught the house. Lovely romantic garden with several levels all facing the sea just in front.

FUNCHAL MADEIRA
One of the most beautiful cities in Portugal, this part of Funchal is the nicest by far. Surrounded by quaint traditional houses, subtropical gardens and an excellent temperate climate. A short walk down the road and you are in the heart of the old town, with restaurants, shops, museums and the spectacular warm sea (barreirinha beach 300meters away). Your are surrounded by history, the wine trade, English and Portuguese fusion of architecture and great local food. The people of Madeira are extremely friendly and all speak several languages but English for sure which they love to speak. Enjoy boat rides to see dolphins and whales or go big game fishing, the sea is absolutely amazing and warmed by the Gulf Stream. Take a scuba-diving course and visit the island of Porto Santo nearby. Also great surf points around the island. Famous for its many subtropical gardens the island is known as the Garden of the Atlantic. A couple of yellow sand beaches, lots of great pebbles beach and black sand beaches all with a great warm sea. From here there is a good bus network to take you all over the island (levada walking in the mountains, golf, trekking, visiting gardens, sightseeing). Nearby you have a good bakery, grocery and butcher. Our housekeeper lives nearby, and can help with anything you need should something arise during your holiday. A charming area were only locals live, very peaceful but a short walk takes you into the heart of city life, the sea, to the best restaurants on the island and Funchal market. No car is necessary. We will give you all the best local tips, contacts and information to make sure you have an authentic Madeira experience and lots of fun.

About Us
We are a family of four. My husband Ricardo is in his 40´s works as a golf club manager and I'm in my 30's have a book publishing company, write travel books. Children are 8 and 10 years old very nice, sweet and well behaved. An easygoing family who adore living in Madeira and will show you the best way to have a spectacular holiday here. We will also take very good care of your house.
