About our home

Our 1,200 sqft apartment is located in a high quality, small-sized condominium in the fashionable East Coast area of Singapore. It's a 10 minutes taxi ride from the airport yet it's peaceful and undisturbed by any sound other than the water features around the Balinese-style swimming pool, and exotic birds in the luxuriant gardens.

The ground-floor apartment is situated right next to the swimming pool, and a poolside patio shaded by coconut trees,. You can have drinks or dine al fresco, interrupted by laps in the 25-m pool. You may also reserve the breezy and lush second-floor BBQ terrace to host a larger crowd of friends. The property features a tennis court, gym and sauna/jacuzzi.

The beach and the 15 km-long East Coast Park along it are a 5-minute walk, or 3-minute bicycle ride away. You may use our two city bikes, and rent some more (or roller skates) on the beach. There, you will find everything from beachfront restaurants and bars (especialy Jumbo Seafood and the Tawandang microbrewery & Thai restaurant), to sailing/windsurfing and cable wake boarding. There are even an indoor mini golf and a skateboarding park.

There are hundreds of eateries, many of them open late at night, within a 1km radius from the house, from inexpensive hawker centers to international cuisine. With few exceptions the food is very good.

Downtown (Marina Bay, Chinatown, Little India, Arab Street) is a 15-minute inexpensive cab ride away. You can also choose to take the bus - there are 2 bus stops within 150 m from the property.

There are three golf courses and one driving range within a 10-minute taxi ride. If you promise to be careful Tom will lend you his Mizuno forged iron set.

Our apartment is decorated simply, mostly with paintings and photographs (Tom's mom is a painter). It is very comfortable and well appointed. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. There is one guest bedroom and also a study with a single bed - sharing the other bathroom. A cleaning lady comes once a week to scrub the place and do some ironing.
