About our home

Our staffed villa in the old Dutch Fort in Galle, Sri Lanka, was extensively renovated in 2007. It has 5 ensuite bedrooms, 4 of which are double. The central courtyard is furnished with a pool and sofas for relaxing. The sitting room, dining room and TV room all open up on to this courtyard, as do two of the bedrooms. There is a small garden at the far back of the house with a Frangipani tree.
Situated on a street which is full of activities during the day, but quiet during the night it has the best that the Fort can offer at its fingertips.
The Ramparts where joggers, cricketers and lovers mingle with Buddhist munks and students from the Arabic college are half a minute away, as are small beaches suitable for a morning or evening dip. Amazing sunsets and fun shopping, surfing, whale and turtle watching, cycling through amazingly beautiful and varied countryside are all easily available. Also a good base from which to explore the Tea Country and Yala Nature Reserve. Inside the Fort everything is within easy walking distance. For trips further afield tuk-tuks are available from most street corners. For longer trips we recommend vans with a/c.
