Bit of culture: The globe Inn, Chulmleigh !!!
Walks in the park: Our house, Dartmoor, Exmoor, coastal walks, half an hours drive.
Spot of exercise: The property offers a salt water swiming pool, tennis court, gym, dance barn/yoga studio,croquet lawn
Day tripping: Sauntern sands, spectacular north devon beach...both dartmoor and exmoor with a few miles. The funky town of Totnes one hour away.

3 things they loved about the swap:

The house itself, stylish and spacious and full of character
All of the facilities, from tennis court and swimming pool to full-sized snooker table
The area, lovely rolling hills in mid/north Devon and charming town of Chulmleigh. Great pizzas at the local Red Lion pub and friendly locals.

How much they saved: Not sure what the rental cost would have been for this ten bedroom house but certainly saved a lot and had a great birthday celebration lasting a week that wouldn't have happened otherwise
