About our home

Our home is in a beautiful, sought after suburb on the outskirts of Glasgow and is a 20- minute drive from the city centre of Glasgow.

It is a semi-detached building over two floors although recently we have added a beautiful, spacious sunroom that has given us an additional level of living space.

On the ground level we have a lounge, large dining kitchen, double bedroom and a very large family sized bathroom.

The ground level bathroom was completed just last year and has been fitted with a stand alone bath tub as well as a double, walk-in shower with a plunge shower head.

The dining kitchen was also completed just last year and is fully fitted to a very high standard with two ovens, integrated microwave, integrated washing machine/dryer, integrated dishwasher, integrated freezer and a 5 burner gas hob together with lots of cupboard space. We also have a freestanding large family fridge. We have a dining section with a beautiful, large dining table that seats 6/8 comfortably.

The sunroom is our pride and joy and it is a fantastic room for entertaining or just chilling out and watching a movie. We have a 60” wall mounted plasma screen television, a music system, and a Wii system, all with surround sound. The décor in this room is very modern and contemporary so our huge black leather corner suite and two couches are perfect for relaxing in it. If you are feeling a bit more energetic we have a small gym located at the end of the sunroom.

The sunroom leads on to a studio/office which can be used for computer access although you can also use our laptop as there is wireless network throughout the house. We have both the main computer and the laptop fitted with Skype if you need to contact anyone at home.

The sunroom leads out to our garden, which has a large area of decking. In the garden, we have a large barbeque and a table tennis table together with plenty of garden furniture for dining al fresco. Again, we have a music system installed for the decking area.

On the upper level of the house, we have two double bedrooms and a shower room. Both bedrooms are very spacious and have been freshly decorated recently. Each room contains plenty of storage space and have lots of privacy as we are not overlooked by other houses.

Local shops are a 10-minute walk away and Glasgow city centre is a 20-minute drive away.

Buzzy restaurants
A great local Indian restaurant is Royal India. We have many, many local restaurants that offer a great variety of food. In Glasgow City Centre, you are spoilt for choice but our favourite area in the City Centre is Merchant City where there are lots of different restaurants and bars. The same can be said for the West End, especially on Byres Road and Ashton Lane.
Cool bars
Again, Merchant City in the City Centre is a favourite of ours (well Marie’s really if we are being honest)
Cozy cafés
Locally, Boaters Café in Rouken Glen Park is a great place for a coffee and a catch up with friends.
Retail therapy
On our door step we have Mearns Shopping Centre but not too far away are some really good shopping centres i.e. Silverburn, Braehead and The Fort.
Bit of culture
House for an Art Lover is a stunning Charles Rennie Mackintosh building. You can have a browse around then have a coffee or some lunch in the restaurant, we would definitely recommend this venue. The Burrell Collection is also quite close by. It is quite a small museum but very modern in design and is situated in lovely park surroundings. A new addition to our city is the Riverside Museum on the Clydeside and is a museum of transport. This is a stunning new building architecturally and has had thousands of visitors through its door in its first few weeks. The Art Galleries is a must also as it is a gorgeous building, although it was apparently built back to front!!
Walks in the park
Rouken Glen Park is very close by and is well looked after. There is a boating pond and a wooded area with a waterfall. There are a couple of places within the park to stop for coffee.
Day tripping
There are many places not to miss such as Loch Lomond, St. Andrews, Turnberry, Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, west coast beaches, whisky trails etc.
