About our home

Our unique home was completely renovated over the past 10 years. It is a very contemporary interior set within a Victorian Methodist chapel in a conservation valley in the Yorkshire Pennines. I think it looks like the Garden of Eden, it is so lush and beautiful. Flooded with light the proportions of its space are enormous. The house has a huge living area with a large spiral staircase in its centre, which leads to the open plan kitchen, dining room and further lounge area. Upstairs there is a library and 4 large bedrooms - 2 are en-suite- plus other exciting spaces including the glass atrium and upper mezzanine beneath the bell tower.

Outside there is a patio area to the front with dramatic views over the conservation area wooded valley with stream at its centre. There is a driveway and garden to the side, parking for up to 5 cars at the rear and a 1 acre field with further extensive private seating area and views.

Situated on a hillside in the village of Mill Bank overlooking the Ryburn valley this modern conversion of a Methodist chapel is in prime postition for exploring the North West of England. The local area invites exploration with excellent walking, shooting and outdoor activities. The village of Ripponden is a short walk away where you will find Yorkshire's oldest pub (also home to the famous Pork Pie Club) and it is also home to Gordon Ramsey's favourite tapas restaurant 'El Gato Negro' and other bistros such as The Fox. amenities also include a Co-operative supermarket, excellent deli, local butcher and tea room. Nearby Sowerby Bridge, a larger town with train station to Leeds, Manchester & beyond, has open air markets, canal-side walks & many bars and restaurants and Nearby Hebden bridge is a creative and foodie mecca. Beyond, the property is only half an hour from Manchester and Leeds and York, Harrogate, Liverpool and North Wales are all an easy drive away. London is only just over 2 hours from Manchester by train and so can be reached from our home in less than 3 hours.
