About our home

My home is the end one of a row of four houses which overlook the town gardens in the centre of historic Lewes. Away from the road, it is situated on a brick laid "twitten" (Sussex name for a path), but is only 5 mins walk from the station with trains to London (1hr5mins) and Brighton (20 mins). Lewes High St with its castle, myriad cafes and independent shops is a 3min walk (uphill!). Lewes is a centre of culture, Glyndebourne is 3 miles, and Charleston Farmhouse is nearby for those interested in the Bloomsbury Set. The town is home to numerous artists, writers and sculptors. It is also part of the newly created South Downs National Park which makes it an ideal holiday destination for walkers and bird watchers.
The house is small but beautifully appointed and there is a small courtyard garden so you can eat outside in the Summer. There is an Aga in the kitchen with an additional electric cooker if preferred (the Aga is switched off in the Summer months).
