About our home

Our 175 sqm (1800 sqft) industrial-chic loft conversion is set over ground and lower ground floors. It's one of many high-end conversions in what used to be a jam factory, with 24/7 key-fob gate security and 24/7 concierge.

The communal roof terrace above the sixth floor has 360-degree views of the London skyline.

The area has quickly become one of the coolest in London, with terrific restaurants in Bermondsey St. We shop at the weekend farmers' market and famous foodie hang-out Borough Market. We're 15 minutes walk to the River Thames, where you can stroll along to the Tate Modern and the Design Museum. Plus White Cube Gallery on Bermondsey St - four minutes from our flat.

Great transport links (Northern and Jubilee lines 10-15 mins walk, plus buses 1 minute) make this central London pad perfect for visitors.

Non-smokers only, please. And sorry, no kids.

We're only interested in swapping with lovehomeswap members who do NOT rent their own home to others. For us, what makes a swap work is when the only currency is mutual trust.

The huge open plan living area is super-bright and airy with windows all round - admire the view of the nearby Shard, Europe's tallest building.

The 15ft kitchen island has every piece of high-quality kitchen equipment you'd need, including good wine glasses, cutlery and crockery, plus American style fridge freezer. And you don't need to replace the Nespresso capsules... you're here on holiday, not to do the weekly shop!

Don't worry about the lack of aircon. In summer the flat is cool, and in winter the massive cast-iron radiators keep it toasty.

Downstairs are two big bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate dressing room that runs between the wetroom and main ensuite. The main bed is superking with supremely comfortable memory foam mattress. The second bedroom has a double bed. The staircase is open on one side at the bottom with no handrail - it's beautiful, but take care!

Our weekly cleaner will keep the place sparkling for you. Good linen and towels provided, of course.

Buzzy restaurants
Three min walk to Zucca (award-winning Italian) and Pizarro (modern Spanish) are run by our friends - name drop for a great table!
Cool bars
Jose (fab tapas), The Woolpack (typical London boozer), The Garrison (chic gastro-pub), Village East (cocktail heaven)
Cozy cafés
Too numerous to list, but we love brilliant Caphe (Vietnamese) and, Saturdays only, Monmouth Coffee on Maltby Street (upstart foodie mecca recently profiled by the New York Times)
Retail therapy
10 mins walk to foodie Borough Market, 10 mins on the Jubilee Line to Bond St, Regent St, Oxford St and the world's best department store, Selfridges
Bit of culture
Walk to Tate Modern, the Design Museum and newly opened White Cube Gallery. Shortwave Cinema at Bermondsey Square
Walks in the park
South Bank again, plus 15 mins on the tube to Regents Park and Hyde Park - if you want to bump into American movie stars running with their minders!
Spot of exercise
Jog along the South Bank to your heart monitor's content. Or rent a 'Boris Bike' - there are plenty of docking stations all around
Day tripping
You'd leave London? Close to London Bridge Station for trips to Brighton and south coast
