About our home

A large London Victorian five-bedroom modernised family home with garden in Highbury. This is a quiet but very centrally located part of Islington.

We have four double bedrooms: one en-suite taking up the whole of the second floor; one double with single futon sofa; two bedroom/studies with comfortable double sofa beds (one opening onto a green roof), and a teenager attic bedroom with a single bed and three single mattresses which sleeps 4 kids.

A large family kitchen opens onto a small inner courtyard, and sliding windows and doors open onto the garden, with garden furniture and shade sail.

The kitchen also opens onto a large double aspect living room with TV, XBox and computer.

The decor and furnishing is modernist/mid-century modern (but not minimalist!).

A small front garden provides a lock-up for bicycles, and there is a small kitchen garden for salad and herbs.

Highbury is a quiet oasis in Islington, North London. It is very well placed for access to all central London has to offer (one stop to Kings Cross), and well served by tubes, buses and overland train (including a direct link to the Olympic 2012 site).

Highbury itself has all the shops, cafés, parks and restaurants for your daily needs, while Islington has an acclaimed theatre (the Almeida), an art house and mainstream cinema, an art gallery, an antiques market, a farmer's market, many one-off design shops, bookshops and high street shops, and a buzzing café, restaurant and pub nightlife.

But our road is so tranquil that you are more likely to be woken by birds singing than by city sounds. Indeed the area is often said to have a villagey feel.
