About our home

Our house is a handsome Edwardian semi-detatched property on a leafy road, 5 minutes walk from the tube in one direction and the common in the other. It's spacious (around 300 sq metres) and homely. Open fire in the living room, central heating etc. The large master bedroom has a king size bed and lovely en suite with a walk in double shower. The kids bedroom has bunk beds and a single and the family bathroom is huge. There are 3 other bedrooms, one with twin beds, one with a double and one with a 4ft bed (a bit smaller than a double). The house can sleep 9 or 10 (depending on whether 2 adults want to share the 4ft bed which can be done if both parties are slim!). We have a large and very well equipped playroom, and the jewel in the crown, our wonderful new kitchen and family room. Front sitting room has TV with Sky, and DVD as well as a CD player. Also have wifi broadband and telephone etc. Family room has 46" HD TV with Sky HD and surround sound, for movie evenings if you tire of everything London has to offer!

Balham is a bustling area of South West London, popular with families and young people alike due to its large parks, excellent bars and restaurants and proximity to central London. A tube ride from the station at the end of our road will have you in Waterloo (for The London Eye, The South Bank, River Thames boat rides, National Theatre etc) in 20 minutes. Another couple of stops and you're in Leicester Square (for all the Galleries, West End shopping etc). Our road is part of the prestigious Heaver Estate, a conservation area bordering Tooting Bec Common made up of late Victorian and Edwardian homes. Within 2 minutes walk of the house is a superb independent wine merchant, a French Cafe, an Italian restaurant and a couple of newsagents. Central Balham is another 5 minutes away. Unusually for this part of London we have a very large garden (125ft) complete with gas barbeque, trampoline and swings and climbing frame for the kids. We have two friendly chickens who require very little looking after - just water and food 2-3 times a week - and they'll provide you with fresh eggs every morning.
