About our home

Hi!

I have a very well-connected, spacious one bedroom apartment in Dalston/Hackney right next to London Fields, a popular and lively neighbourhood. It is on the main high street above shops (JD Sports) so all amenities and very well connected with the City. The flat is at the back of the building so it's relatively quiet given it's location.

Oxford St shopping district London is 2.5 miles away - 15 mins by train/tube (on the tube map flat is at Hackney Central & Dalston Junction http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/standard-tube-map.pdf), hundreds of buses connecting you to anywhere else in London you may wish to visit, and cycle paths directing you to the city from just outside the flat.

E8 is a very cool Zone 2 postcode full of artists' studios, lots of bars, restaurants, pubs, lively London markets, a theatre, 3 lovely parks and a public olympic-size heated (27C) open-air swimming pool less than 4 minutes' walk away http://londonfieldslover.wordpress.com/

The flat itself is pretty spacious (for London) and comprises three main rooms - a large bedroom, an eat-in well stocked (spices/herbs/great cooker etc) kitchen and a separate large living room (with very comfy double futon for guests - could be used as second bedroom if needed as it’s a totally separate space).

All amenitites available:
- Very good Wifi
- Freeview cable tv/Dvd player
- Great soundsystem
- Washing machine
- Dining table (in kitchen)
- Study area in living room
- Use of 2 (single speed/fixie) bikes (by request)
- Lots of books/DVDs
- 24 hour supermarket opposite the flat
- Gorgeous gastro-pub a few doors down (http://www.urbaninns.co.uk/theoldship-about.html)
- Free up-to-date copies of Timeout London magazine - the Londoners guide to London

Gym just by the apartment, you could use our Tate, Barbican Arts Centre and BFI membership upon request.

You wont find a cooler area than Hackney!

Also available to rent during Olympic games - Olympic village is less than a mile away
Thanks,
Thom

On the tube map look for Hackney Central/Dalston Junction in Zone 2 ;)

Looking for swaps anywhere in the world at any time, and in NYC/Brooklyn around last weekend in August/ early September or even Oct/Nov for roughly a week.
I'm open to suggestions for other times of year/durations and in fact anywhere in the world! Esp coastal locations/european cities.

I’m a 30 year old professional (programmer) working in the City, possibly travelling with my partner – we are a friendly, fun-loving and responsible couple and we absolutely love London (and NYC!). We can provide plenty of references and arrange a few Skype conversations to sort out arrangements.
