Nestled away in the Historic Centre & only 2 minutes from the sea!

Our 'sanctuary home' was originally a small stone cottage ( pre 1900 ) and we recently extended to provide large open plan ground floor living/kitchen/dining area. One wall is completely glass, featuring bi-fold doors onto secluded sunny aspect patio with arbour.

We are hidden away, just off the Town Mill courtyard and near the river so the property is very quiet. The beaches and promenade that leads to the historic Cobb Harbour ( as featured in the film "French Lieutenant's Woman" ) are only 2 minutes walk away. The beaches are great for fossil hunting!

The best restaurants, bakery, cheesemonger, shops and galleries are right on your doorstep! Everything is within walking distance and as there is no allocated parking with the house, it is best to abandon your car and use foot power!

If you do want to venture out in the car... only 30 miles away, heading east along the beautiful coast road are Weymouth and Portland where the 2012 Olympic Sailing events took place.

Just along the country lanes, 3 miles away is celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's highly revered River Cottage HQ. Best to check their website for courses and events.

Farther afield ... a 60 mile drive north through beautiful countryside will take you to the World Heritage Spa City of Bath, a perfect day trip. Another World Heritage Site and highlight of the South West, the mysterious Stonehenge is only 70 miles drive from Lyme Regis

Heading west for an hour is the stunning Dartmoor National Park... keep heading west and you cross into the beautiful county of Cornwall... so much to explore from a perfect base!
