About our home
Our home is located in the picturesque Cheshire village of Lymm, just a five minute stroll into the village centre with all the local amenities, cafe's, pubs, restaurants, and shops. We have two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. Our south facing court yard garden is perfect for those long English summer evenings.
Lymm is well know for its historical canals, dating back to 1759, once carrying coal, the narrow boats that now cruise leisurely up and down bring the boating community and day tourists, eager to linger and sample the pleasures of the fine pubs and restaurants in Lymm village.
One of the most recognisable sights in the village is The Cross, which is based on ancient steps carved out of the natural red stone and worn with age. Four stone pillars support this distinctive landmark which some believe dates back to the 14th century or possibly more recently to the 17th century. Today its generally has children playfully climbing up and down.
The other distinctive landmark in Lymm is The Dam, a treelined lake and an area of outstanding natural beauty , as well as a nature reserve created in the early 1800s. This is a big focus for visitors near and far and is a great favourite for anglers.
Close to the M6 and M56 motorways, Lymm is in a great location to explore North West England and North wales, with the Lake District National Park and Snowdonia National only 1.5 each in each direction. The beautiful isle of Anglesey where Kate and William live is just over 1.5 hours. And further afield, London is just over 2 hours by car and 1.5 hours by train.
